Our Approach

Our recruitment screening process is among the most thoughtful and rigorous in our field, with fewer than 10% of applicants accepted. Our innovative approach attracts individuals with keen emotional intelligence and higher levels of education, including bachelor's and graduate degrees. We actively recruit people with creative backgrounds, such as actors, musicians, dancers, and artists. All Care Partners undergo a comprehensive vetting process, including state-mandated background checks, drug testing, and fingerprinting. While many applicants meet the technical requirements of our work, our selectivity is driven by the intangible qualities we seek: specifically, a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of others.

A hallmark of our approach is our unparalleled investment in memory care training. Through the Renewal Memory Institute, we educate and inspire our team with best practices at the forefront of innovation and research. As part of their training, all Care Partners receive advanced certifications from the Alzheimer’s Association. Beyond core competencies, we curate best-in-class training experiences from top programs and experts across a wide variety of disciplines, including creative arts therapies, gerontology, mental health, speech/language pathology, physical and occupational therapies, and hospice/palliative care.

The cornerstone of our holistic approach is our unique matching process, resulting in genuine connections between clients and Care Partners that deepen over time. We believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to caring for individuals with dementia, and we thoughtfully adapt our care to embrace the complexities and nuances of each client’s situation. Our services are designed to evolve with the needs of our clients. Accordingly, our team includes college-educated companions, ideally suited to clients living with early-stage memory loss, as well as certified home health aides, who support clients in the later stages of cognitive decline. We honor the trust, security, and bond that grows from a lasting relationship. To maintain continuity of care, we invest in certification trainings for Care Partners to ensure clients thrive through changing circumstances.

As an interdisciplinary corps of social workers, nurses, and support staff, our Care Management team provides round-the-clock support to our Care Partners, clients, and their families. With 24/7 assistance available from registered nurses and trained staff members on call, we ensure that our clients are never without the help they need in a crisis.

Every Renewal client is assigned a dedicated Care Manager, who is present for every step of their journey. As the primary point of contact for our clients’ family members and loved ones, Care Managers deliver seamless coordination of care. They shape and support each aspect of a client’s experience, providing regular updates, scheduling assistance, referrals to supplemental services - such as physical or occupational therapy - and connections to community resources, including activities, events, and support groups. In addition, Care Managers offer personal and professional mentorship and support to the Care Partners on their team.

In collaboration with our diverse network of trusted partners, our Care Managers ensure that each client’s needs are holistically met. From referrals to leading geriatricians and specialists, to creative arts therapists, to wellness experts in massage, yoga, and nutrition, we take a full 360° approach to caring for the whole person. If a client has a specific need for supplemental care that is not within our existing network, we will seek out and find the right resource.
