Having the good fortune of longevity in her family, Lydia was drawn to a helping profession after growing up surrounded by older adults. Over 20 years of business development experience in senior housing and in-home care encouraged Lydia to pursue her MSW so that she could work with older adults in a more comprehensive manner. Lydia graduated summa cum laude with her master’s in social work from Columbia University. She also holds a BA in management. In her free time, Lydia enjoys spending time with her husband and family. A science and technology enthusiast, Lydia enjoys reading research on dementia, aging, and medicine. Lydia contributes content to the PrimeTime section of the Chicago Tribune on subjects related to aging. She has also served as a support group facilitator with the Alzheimer’s Association.
